Voodoo Saddles
Frequently Asked Questions
How much does a seat cost?
-I have a minimum of $500 for a seat. It will depend on how much time and blood will go into the project. E-mail me for a quote but read all the way through this thing first. I require a 50% non-refundable deposit upon commission and the remaining 50% upon completion.

Wow, why does it cost so much?
-The real question here is how much is it worth to you to have a seat that makes everyone stand around your bike every time you get off of it?

What will you put on a seat?
-I specialize in a traditional American style of carving called sheridan and tattoo style imagery. I adhere to a very strict aesthetic on each seat. They are made to be visually striking. There are any number of seat makers who will make you a plain black seat. I won’t. I will only accept projects that I am absolutely certain that I can make stop traffic. Each is a work of blood, sweat, and tears. This means that you get very little creative control. In return you get to be the envy of all your friends, neighbors and pretty much anyone else who walks by it. Don’t be offended if I don’t accept your project. It just means that there is someone else that’s better suited for the job. If your imagination fails you I will make seats throughout the year as the fancy strikes me and time allows. If you would like to be put on the mailing list and be notified when I have a new seat that’s available use the contact form and ask but be certain to say please.

They look very uncomfortable. Are they?
-Yes.

Can you make them so they are comfortable?
-No. I ride mine every day. 6 inch heels aren’t comfortable. It takes a special kind of woman to wear those. Chicks wear high heels and guys ride rigid bikes with seats like these on them. If you aren’t that guy then I am not the guy to buy a seat from.

Will you use my seat pan?
-Probably not but you may ask. Be aware that if I do use your pan I will immediately rip off all padding.

So far in this conversation you haven’t struck me as being very personable. What are your thoughts on that?
-If I come across as shrewd it’s because i’m honest with myself and others. It takes many hours with each project and if I don’t love what I’m doing it becomes work. I will take the time to do what others cannot or will not do. I want to go above and beyond what you think is possible but you must be willing to let me do so and accept the fact that there is a very good chance I will tell you something you don't want to hear. It's much more efficient for you to be disappointed up front than to be disappointed after spending a bunch of money. This being said I go out of my way to make you as excited about owning one as I am to make it.

To save me some time will you give me some examples of what you won’t do?
-I won’t do a solid black seat under any circumstances. My seats look like they do because of the contrast I create with different dyes along with many hours of tooling. There are only a few circumstances that I will put lettering on your bike and if I do it will be small and unobtrusive. Brass knuckles, iron crosses, and all the other standard “chopper” imagery. That’s just not what I do. I work on a grander scale.

So how in the world do I get you to make me a seat?
-Your best bet is to have a general idea and let me make you something special. You must be open and trust that I see things in a different way. If you are totally open send me some pictures of your bike and maybe it will tell me what it wants to wear. I’m like a 21st century horse whisperer on occasion. Questions are free. Work will cost you.

What's the best way to contact you?
I prefer e-mail HERE. You can also use the contact form. Please be patient. I will get back to you as soon as possible. I try to return all emails within 48-72 hours.

Do you make other things?
I make all sorts of things but the same rules apply. Email me with your ideas for a quote. I am currently compiling a gallery of some of my other projects.
